Who is responsible
HABI Controls ApS (CVR 45730484), Fjordvejen 142, Rønshoved, 6340 Kruså, Denmark, is the data controller for personal data collected through habicontrols.com and docs.habicontrols.com. Contact: contact@habicontrols.com.
When you contact us
When you send the contact form or email us, we receive your name, company, email address, phone number if you give it, what you are interested in, and your message. We use it to answer you and, where relevant, to continue a business conversation such as an Evaluation Kit order, a pilot or a quotation.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries, or steps you ask us to take before entering into an agreement (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)). Enquiries may be recorded in our customer system so we can follow up.
News by email
If you tick the box to follow our news, we use your email address to send occasional updates about HABI Controls. This is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Customer accounts (HABI Docs and HABI Studio)
Customers get an account to access documentation, downloads, support and their HABI Studio license. Accounts are created by HABI Controls; there is no public sign-up. We process your name, email, company, role, phone number, the kits and serial numbers registered to you, license dates, support requests and sign-in activity.
Sign-in is handled by Microsoft Entra External ID on our behalf, with data stored in EU data centres. Legal basis: performance of our agreement with you or your company (Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in keeping accounts secure (Art. 6(1)(f)).
HABI Studio only contacts us to sign you in, check your license and show the kits registered to your account. It does not send usage statistics or your configurations.
Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We use a small number of processors who act on our instructions under a data processing agreement:
- Microsoft (email, Microsoft 365 and customer sign-in)
- Hostinger (hosting of the website and HABI Docs, EU data centres)
Where a processor may access data from outside the EU/EEA, the transfer is covered by an EU adequacy decision (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or the EU standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and business correspondence: as long as the business relationship needs it, and up to 3 years after the last contact. Customer accounts: kept for as long as the account exists, and deleted when you or your company ask us to delete it. Accounting records: 5 years, as required by the Danish Bookkeeping Act.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to contact@habicontrols.com. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), datatilsynet.dk.
Cookies
Cookies.
habicontrols.com does not set cookies, and we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on the website at the moment. Fonts and images are served from our own server.
HABI Docs uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, including cookies set by the Microsoft sign-in page. These are needed for the service to work and do not require consent.
If we start using analytics cookies to understand how our website is used and to improve it, we will update this page first and ask for your consent with a cookie banner. Rejecting will be as easy as accepting, and you will be able to change your choice at any time.

Content is for general information. Product details, specifications and availability may change as the HABI Button develops. Datasheets and documents provided with a quotation or order take precedence over descriptions on this website; please confirm details with us before design-in or purchasing decisions.
Intellectual property
The HABI Button, its patent-pending sensing and feedback technology, HABI Studio, and the HABI Controls name, logo and content belong to HABI Controls ApS. Nothing on this website grants a license to use them.

Terms of sale
Buying from HABI Controls.
These general terms apply to quotations, orders, Evaluation Kits, pilots and engineering services from HABI Controls ApS, unless a signed agreement says otherwise. We sell to businesses only.
Quotations and orders
Quotations are valid for the period stated, or 30 days if none is stated. An order is binding on us only once we confirm it in writing, including by email.
Evaluation Kits
Evaluation Kits are for evaluation and pilot integration only, not for resale or use in products sold to end customers. We may limit the number of kits per customer. Use of HABI Studio is subject to the HABI Studio license terms.
Delivery
Delivery times are estimates given in the order confirmation. Unless otherwise agreed, delivery is Ex Works (EXW, Incoterms 2020) from our facilities, currently in Kruså, Denmark.
Payment
Payment terms are stated in the quotation and order confirmation. Prices exclude VAT and duties unless stated otherwise. Products remain the property of HABI Controls ApS until paid in full. Late payment may carry interest under the Danish Interest Act (renteloven), and we may pause deliveries while invoices are overdue.
Warranty
Products will conform to the agreed specification and be free from material defects for the warranty period in the order confirmation. The warranty does not cover misuse, modification, incorrect installation or normal wear. Remedy is repair, replacement or refund, at our choice.
Liability
To the extent Danish law allows, our total liability is limited to the price paid for the products or services concerned, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit, lost production or downtime. This does not limit liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct or personal injury.
Confidentiality
Technical information, drawings and prices shared during an engagement, including pilots and evaluations, are kept confidential and used only for that engagement, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Force majeure
We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as component shortages, supply disruption, natural disasters, war or government action.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Danish law, and disputes go to the Danish courts, with the court in Sønderborg, Denmark, as the agreed venue.
HABI Studio license
License terms for HABI Studio.

These terms apply to HABI Studio, the desktop software for configuring the HABI Button, and to its updates and documentation. They are an agreement between HABI Controls ApS and the company whose HABI account is used to sign in ("you"). You accept them when you sign in to HABI Studio for the first time. A signed agreement with us takes precedence over these terms.
What you may do
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license, for the license period, to install and use HABI Studio to configure, test and evaluate HABI Buttons, and to prepare configurations for your own products that use HABI Buttons.
Who may use it
Your employees and contractors who have a HABI account may use HABI Studio, on any number of your own computers. Accounts are personal: each person signs in with their own account and does not share it. You are responsible for how your users use HABI Studio.
License period
A license runs for 12 months from activation, unless your order or agreement says otherwise. The dates are shown in your HABI Docs account. Licenses can be renewed as part of a pilot, an order or by agreement with us. When a license ends, HABI Studio may stop connecting to buttons until it is renewed. HABI Buttons that are already configured keep working with their saved configuration.
What you may not do
- Sell, rent, lend, sublicense or share HABI Studio with anyone outside your company.
- Copy it, other than installing it on your computers and normal backups.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or modify it, except where the law expressly allows this.
- Work around the sign-in or license check.
- Use it to develop a product that competes with the HABI Button or HABI Studio.
Ownership and your configurations
HABI Studio, its documentation and the HABI Button firmware remain the property of HABI Controls ApS. The configurations you create for your products are yours. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve our products without obligation to you.
Data
HABI Studio contacts our servers only to sign you in, check your license and show the kits registered to your account. It does not send usage statistics, and it does not send your configurations to us. See the privacy policy above for how account data is handled.
Updates and support
We may release updates with fixes and new features. Some updates may be needed to keep signing in or connecting to newer HABI Buttons. Support is available through HABI Docs during the license period.
Confidentiality
HABI Studio, its documentation and any pre-release versions are confidential. Keep them within your company and use them only under these terms.
Not for safety functions
HABI Studio and the configurations made with it must not be relied on for emergency stop or other safety functions unless agreed with us in writing as part of a qualified product design.
Warranty and liability
HABI Studio is provided as is. We work to fix material errors you report to us, but we do not promise that it is free of errors or runs without interruption. Our liability follows the liability section of the terms of sale: limited to what you paid for the license or the kit it came with, and no liability for indirect losses such as lost production or profit, except for gross negligence, wilful misconduct or personal injury.
Ending the license
If these terms are breached, we may suspend or end the license after notifying you. When the license ends, stop using HABI Studio and remove it from your computers.
Third-party components
HABI Studio may include open-source components under their own licenses. They are listed in the About screen of HABI Studio.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Danish law, with the court in Sønderborg, Denmark, as the agreed venue.
